Fr. Ted's Life

To explore the life of Rev. Theodore Hesburgh, C.S.C. is to examine the time on Earth of someone who strongly influenced virtually every area in which he was involved. Fr. Hesburgh achieved his professed goal of being ordained as a priest at age 26, and used his vocation to effect positive change in the areas of civil rights, higher education, and the Church, to name a few.

The enduring legacy left after his 35 years as Notre Dame's president is tangible on campus today. His life embodied the servant leadership and commitment to excellence that the University seeks to instill in each of its students: a man of the world who represented his university, his profession and his faith in the highest regard.
